She then sent a message in WhatsApp Falconer saying "I told you not to do, but you did it anyway." And he answered: "I'm sorry, (".

Religion and technology: What will happen this year Hajj in Mecca, is unprecedented

What will happen in the next Hajj is a perfect example. The activity most likely will be shared and followed by millions of times through social media, although in previous years, as cameras were not allowed.

It is offering an unprecedented window to the Muslim world - its beauty, its diversity, and how it is developing over time, in the digital space

When Snapchat-published an article on Mecca (live) during Ramadan in 2015, it was the first time that the world viewed closely, what happened in one of the leading countries for 1.6 billion Muslims in the world.

Worshipers were busy posting pictures that express who they are and what is important to them, combining many physical rituals of Ramadan, the pilgrimage to the virtual spaces of social media.

Millions of Muslim pilgrims are gathering again in Mecca, as is expected to begin hajj.

It highlights the Islamic concept of the ummah, the global Muslim nation, where all Muslims, regardless of wealth, race, language or culture are bound together as one body.

This has historically been an emotional and spiritual connection, expressing love and solidarity distances.

It was a matter of the heart and of those less fortunate who can not travel. But for today's generation of young Muslims, through social media, "Ummah" is made real in a way that was never before.

I allowed them to cross geographical borders, family and community, to connect with Muslims around the world, to hear the news, to exchange ideas about what it means to be a Muslim, through values joint, and to build a community of purpose.

The role of the internet in the emergence of this new segment, which believes that religion and modernity can go hand in hand, has been especially true for women. It is a space where they can ask questions, build solidarity with the larger Muslim movement for women's rights.

These young Muslims do the shopping here.

In their aspiration to preserve and express their faith, they have made great strides, and when they saw that was missing were returned to the Internet, where they set up their new businesses.

Cyberspace has given access to a wide audience, and internet economy has allowed their businesses to thrive.

And in the same way, access via the Internet to a large array of products and services tailored specifically to their hope for a life full of Muslims were allowed to buy these products and to reinforce identity their common Muslim.

The democratization of knowledge that provides internet has opened new avenues for Muslims to learn from the scholars and religious teachings in a way that had never before been possible.

This has had many positive effects, including religious academies on the Internet, a researcher who once sat on pedestals, and today make sermons in Snapchat.

This has led to the emergence of scholar famously, whose lectures shared online with tens of thousands of times, and whose quotations become "meme". New music, bloggers and influencers ave with footage ranging from rogue fashion designers, was given a platform.

The challenge lies in the fact that the volume and quality of the internet can be a cover for religious misrepresented information. And we know that his risk lies precisely in corners of dark sleeper.

But this is a small part of a much bigger story, where Muslim youths have found a space for them is as powerful as the real world.

They use social media campaign, which oppose stereotypes prevalent, to create and disseminate materials to express themselves on their own terms, and use - as happens with Hajj - as an integral part of their religious devotions.

What will happen in the next Hajj is a perfect example. The activity most likely will be shared and followed by millions of times through social media, although in previous years, as cameras were not allowed. It is offering an unprecedented window to the Muslim world - its beauty, its diversity, and how it is developing over time, in the digital space./ShikoNews

At least 24 killed in Syria airstrikes

At least 24 civilians have been killed in air raids on a rebel-held area of Aleppo and an Islamic State-held village nearby.

Some 14 people were killed in the airstrikes on Tadef, near the town of al-Bab, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

Local opposition sources said Wednesday's raids were carried out by Turkish forces.

Al-Bab lies about 30km south of the border town of al-Rai, one of the centres of Turkey's recent ground intervention in support of Syrian rebels against Islamic State and Kurdish-led forces.

It also lies about 25km from positions held by the Kurdish-led forces who last month captured the city of Minbij from Islamic State. Government forces are also positioned close to al-Bab.

Both rebels and the Kurdish-backed forces have said they intend to move on al-Bab. Capturing the town would allow the Kurds to link up their main territory in north-eastern Syria with an enclave they control in the north-west.

Turkey and the rebels are adamantly opposed to the formation of a Kurdish entity spanning northern Syria.

In Aleppo's eastern al-Sukari district, meanwhile, the Observatory reported that 10 people were killed in air raids, a day after activists there reported a poison gas attack.

Ibrahim al-Hajj, a spokesman for the volunteer Syrian emergency group White Helmets, said that 22 people died and 40 others were wounded.

Al-Hajj also said that four rescue workers from his organisation, which works in opposition-held areas of the country, were killed in air raids over the past 24 hours in and near Aleppo.

The international chemical weapons watchdog said it was "disturbed" by reports of chlorine gas use in an air raid Tuesday in al-Sukari.

"We are disturbed by the recent allegations of the use of toxic chemicals in Aleppo," said a statement by the director-general of the Hague-based Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, Ahmet Uzumcu./ShikoNews

US journalist recounts past years as a prisoner in Syria

In 2012, the independent journalist Theo Padnos went to Syria to cover the civil war, but immediately was kidnapped by members of a branch of Al-Qaida.

Convinced that he was a CIA agent, because Padnos spoke Arabic, militants held him for nearly two years before she was released in August 2014.

Padnos, who originally is from Massachusetts, described his journey in the documentary titled "Theo Who Lived", which will appear on September 30 in Cambridge. Theatrical premieres will be shown in New York City on October 7 and will then be displayed in other countries.

47-year-old journalist, who has been living in Paris and Vermont, has told The Associated Press how grateful is to survive.

This ordeal has not only changed his opinion about life, but has also provided a perspective on the Syrian conflict and he feels that it is important to share with others.

Padnos is writing a book, a script and a graphic novel about his experience. He had written to his abduction in the magazine New York Times Magazine as a journalist was released and continues to write articles for this region.

"I had a real spiritual journey, for me and my family at that time was a scary thing," says Pandos.

"But when I look back and realize that this is what life has given me, I want what I have learned from this experience to return to positive benefit," he added.

Pandos show documentary in Turkey and Israel, where artistically recreated his abduction 22 months. The film team has not gone to Syria.Padnos reflects on his abduction, where the scene is recreated in tiny prison cell and the room where he was subject to torture and beatings.

Turkey-Syria border, he recalled the moment when his companions persuaded him to take running in the field and then to cross the barbed wire, to pass on the territory of Syria.

Currently Padnos says he constantly reminded for months. Three men, who claimed that supplied the Free Syrian Army, offered Padnos to cross the border with them. But, in fact, they were allies of Al-Qaida. They fabricated a false interview, beaten and held hostage, just shortly after crossing the border.

"This is the moment when my life was destroyed. It's like walking into an abyss, but I actually threw it, "says Padnos in film.

"Now I'm back in a safe place and think why they jumped?" He said.

Padnos also shows in detail a series of attempts to escape, which failed, including one story when with his cell, photographer American Matthew Schrier, who had managed to emerge from a window of the prison, but not Padnos.

The journalist's mother, Nancy Curtis, who was interviewed for the documentary, says she still has mixed emotions about the release of her son. During the time her son was being held by extremists, it had become very close with the parents of other Americans kidnapped by extremists. Many of them were not as lucky as her family, she says.

Curtis and other members of the family have worked with the government of the United States and Qatar, and successfully managed to arrange the release of Padnos, just days after militants, the beheaded US journalist James Foley. Padnos family says that their son's release have not paid before.

"I always had hope that he will return home," says Curtis. "But I do not feel joy and happiness. I believe that anyone who has been a soldier in the war and returned home there were no similar emotions, "she explains.

Director David Schisgall Padnos says history is a rare experience of life within the jihadist group to an external, in order to understand more deeply the language and culture of this region.

Having taught for years Arabic and Islam in Yemen and Syria, Padnos was able to create confidence and make friends with some of his captors. By the end of his imprisonment, he was given greater freedom and even allowed to travel personally to the most senior commander of Al-Nusra Front in Syria.

"Proximity is true that he created with his captors is impressive," says Schisgall.

"It's an important message for the Americans, who see these men who fight as complicated individuals who are dangerous but also very human," he further adds./ShikoNews

CNN: This is the truth of the terrorist attacks in Paris

They were not anything that happened. This warning network is CNN.

According to their data, 13 November 2015 should have been the day of attacks across Europe, not only in Paris.

CNN issued this conclusion after examining more than 90 thousand documents related to the investigation.

Abaaoud known to Abdelhamid, who was killed in the raid in Saint Denis, five days later, had planned a new assassination in 18 or November 19 in the Défense area, possibly in the shopping center "Les Quatre Temps".

Based on intelligence information cited by CNN, ISIS had stepped up efforts to send terrorists in the UK to carry out attacks.

To prepare these attacks, ISIS separated operations in several stages.

Terrorists will receive information and enough money to reach the next level and were unaware of the full plan.

Everyone had to use pseudonyms and communications within each team and be done with encrypted messages. CNN talks about an increase in the quality of ISIS organizational skills./ShikoNews

US close to reaching agreement with Russia on Syria

Washington and Moscow have reached agreement on military cooperation and humanitarian Syria involved in war.

12 hours after a meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State, John Kerry, in Geneva, did not report a significant result.

"We're close," said Kerry. "But we will not insist on a deal until it meets all the needs of people in Syria".

Kerry said that "we have achieved a clarity in our way forward" for a cessation of hostilities, and added that "most" of the technical obstacles to reaching a ceasefire have left but some issues remain unresolved.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told reporters made "important steps" in an agreement to stop the violence.

"I think in the near future we will present the results of our joint efforts," Lavrov said.

There was hope for a notice of termination of the fighting in Syria and in the development of a new round of peace talks brokered by the UN.

But Kerry said he did not want to announce ahead of time to reach an agreement.

"We do not want to make a statement ... that it is not mandatory that no details processed," said Kerry.

"Until agreement is reached, none of us is prepared to announce a presumed failure. We do not want to reach an agreement for the sake of agreement, we want an agreement that is effective, that works for the people of Syria, which makes the region more stable and more secure, that brought us to this table in Geneva, to find a political solution, "said Kerry.

US Secretary of State said that the US and Russian experts, in the coming days will hold meetings in Geneva in an attempt to iron out the remaining obstacles in order to reach a lasting agreement.

Meanwhile, Lavrov said that one of the unresolved issues is the possibility of coordination of air strikes against the Islamic State and other terrorist groups in Syria.

At this point, he said the United States did not meet their promise not to support Al-Nustret group, who are fighting alongside forces backed by the US.

"Without a clear definition of terrorist groups and opposition forces, I see no possibility of achieving complete cessation of hostilities," said Lavrorv./ShikoNews

German Researcher: Media is encouraging Islamophobia

Katja Drechsler, senior associate at the Academy of World Religions at the University of Hamburg, the media says that promote Islamophobia in the West, but we must not forget nor political power sharing.

"Unfortunately, today there is more bad news to come and related to Islam and Islamic countries, such as minority or neglect of alternative views in Pakistan or in Saudi Arabia. We have news for terrorism, since the Taliban until the September 11 militant group Islamic State. In addition, we hear stories of forced marriages, polygamy and cutting of female genitals, "says Drechsler in an interview for Radio Free Europe.

She says the media "always report only the horrors that occur and very little for the good and positives".

"It is important that the public be told that Western Muslims live their religion differently and it depends on many factors. But real life and media presentation of this life are miles apart. It is important to personalize things, talk about normal life of people in Islam ".

"On the approximation of the Christian world and the Muslim should focus more on the similarities and differences will see that there are great," said Drechsler./ShikoNews

Burkini makers shows why this outfit set: 40 percent buyer are not Muslim

Great feedback on social networks were encouraged, from the picture published in French media featuring four armed policemen, who a Muslim woman in the beach looking to remove part of burkini.

This dress of Muslim women, August is banned in fifteen French cities. The ban came under the pretext that offends morality and secularism burkini and that provokes the rest of the community because "appeared openly in the name of religion which are carried out terrorist attacks in France".

But the creators of burkini, Ahed Zanetti, rejects the claims of French politicians, saying that the coating is designed to ensure freedom of Muslim women in sport, recreation and integration into Western society.

Since burkini became unwelcome in many French cities, many Muslim women wear it despite experiencing unpleasant situations on beaches.

Zanetti burkini first made in 2004 for the niece who wanted to deal with netball (a game similar to basketball). Although initially, because the hijab (headscarf that covers the hair, neck and ears) said it could not be part of the team, soon changed the decision.

But it turned out that traditional Muslim dress is extremely impractical sports. But her niece like dealing with this sport and at the same time did not want to remove the hijab because regarded as personal manifestation of modesty, privacy and morality. Thus, it has devised a solution that will reconcile the two hardly compatible things. Zanetti was thrown in search of adequate sports clothing that fit traditional attire myslimanes and thus created burkina.

But this innovation in clothing does not reduce misunderstandings of society, so has decided to provide its meaning. Zanetti said that it is clothing that symbolizes a healthy life and freedom of choice, not connecting strongly with Islam.

"In this way the girls want to integrate into society, to deal with the sport - no" derogatory views and prejudices "- being equal. Every woman has the right to wear the clothes they want, without stops and penalties.Burkina can wear women suffering from skin cancer, or those who have newly born not feel comfortable in a bikini, "she said, adding that sales show that 40 percent buyer are not Muslim. The boys were waiting for documents that could travel abroad for surgical operation that will save lives, when they died, said the American Medical Society.

"The whole world might not have permission to evacuate them," wrote the manager of charitable support in Turkey, Mohamad Katoub, on Twitter.

Moaz and Nawras weighed less than 12lb (5.4kg) when they were born by caesarean section on 23 July at the Zahra hospital in Douma, a town in the eastern Ghouta region outside Damascus.

Douma has been completely besieged by government forces for two years and the undersupplied hospital was unable to provide the twins with the care they required.

There are conflicting reports about why it took almost three weeks for the boys to be evacuated.

The SAMS and doctors in Douma said the government only gave permission for an SARC ambulance to pass through the frontline because of a social media campaign they mounted, using the Twitter hashtag "#EvacuateTheTwins".

On Wednesday morning, Mr Katoub announced that the boys had died. "The whole world couldn't have the permission to evacuate them," he added.

He was later quoted by the pro-opposition website Enab Baladi as blaming "interference by the ministry of foreign affairs and its stalling of issuing a travel permit to any country to allow them to receive treatment".

The SARC said the twins had received treatment in intensive care while being "registered in the formal civil records and having passports issued for them".

But it added that the Bambino Gesu Children's Hospital in Rome had agreed to admit them and that "all formal leave approvals were signed in order to travel". "However, the bad general health condition [of the boys] was a hindrance."/ShikoNews
