Crespo: Higuain is worth more than Pogba

Paul Pogba's transfer to Manchester United has been stoked by Argentina legend Hernan Crespo, who claims Gonzalo Higuain's move to Juventus represented a greater value for the money.
Pogba joined from Juventus for a world record fee of 110 million euros and was replaced by Napoli striker Higuain for a similarly eye-watering 90 million euros fee.

"If they paid it, it is because Higuain is worth it, or at least they believe that they will recover the fee," Crespo told La Nacion.

"It seems much more logical to pay 90 million for Higuain, who comes from scoring 36 goals, to pay 110 million for Pogba."

Since retiring in 2012, the former Chelsea and AC Milan striker has made tentative steps into a management career with a nine-month spell in charge of Modena and revealed his admiration for several of his former coaches.

Crespo credits Jose Mourinho, now at Manchester United, for 'his methodology and ability to empathise with players and the mood' while Sven-Goran Erikssen 'saw a problem and delegated the solution to the group'.

"He gave me a lot of unknown information which contributed to my success later on," he said of former Argentina chief Daniel Passarella./ShikoNews
