Pique takes swipe at Real Madrid over Champions League win
Trolling Real Madrid is nothing new for Gerard Pique, so it was little surprise when the Barcelona defender took advantage of his Twitter Q&A to take a sly shot at the Champions League holders over what the 29-year-old perceived to be a simple route to lifting the trophy.
Ahead of the draw for this year's tournament, Pique was asked if he had any preference for Barcelona.
"I'd prefer an easy group, with the third-placed side from Italy in the last 16, the eighth-placed team from Germany in the quarter-finals, the team that finished fourth from England in the semi-finals, and the return legs all at home," Pique said.
If his answer sounds a little too specific, it is because it is the exact route that Real Madrid took to last year's final against Atletico Madrid.
After qualifying from a group that contained Paris Saint Germain, Shakhtar Donetsk and Malmo, Los Blanos faced Roma, Wolfsburg and Manchester City in the knockout stages.
Barcelona were of course eliminated by Atleti at the quarter-final stage and while Pique would love to get his hands on a fourth Champions League title, in the meantime he seems happy winding up the supporters of Real Madrid./ShikoNews
