Alexis Sanchez sparks Arsenal back to life

The pressure had been building on Arsenal after a slow summer in the transfer market and two straight matches without a victory, yet Alexis Sanchez has sparked them back into life.

Sanchez took charge of the Gunners in Saturday's victory over Watford in what was the club's most coherent performance of the campaign so far.

He contributed an assist, won a penalty and scored a goal at Vicarage Road, finding his rhythm after a summer disrupted by an ankle injury.

Arsenal's performances against Liverpool and Leicester City had been slow and lacking in any real cutting edge in attack but Sanchez's display completely turned that around head on Saturday.

It has been a difficult start to the campaign for the player who has struggled to adapt to the role of being a lone centre-forward in Olivier Giroud's absence, but as he has rediscovered his fitness his form has quickly followed.

Overtures from Italy earlier in the summer had those at the Emirates Stadium concerned however the club has managed to keep their best player and they finally saw the best of him against the Hornets.

This is now his third season in England after Wenger parted with 42 million euros to sign the former Barcelona star and his numbers in the Premier League have shown him to be a value for money signing./ShikoNews
