The history of the great feud in the Holy Land, an Albanian who tried to stop the Rothschilds and the Sultan that allowed the creation of Israel

The formation of the Zionist movement in the late nineteenth century was the result of nationalistic winds began gusting across Europe. The movement demanded a homeland for the Jewish population scattered, exiled from Palestine in the year 70 BC as a result of Roman persecution.

The movement associated with the name of Theodor Herzl, a Viennese journalist, who in 1896 wrote his book "The Jewish State", calling for the creation of a Jewish national state as the solution to the Diaspora and antisemitism. A year later they gathered at Basel World Zionist Congress that gathered in a single motion groups. In 1903, Congress proclaimed the first rift between Zionists after the debate if the Jewish homeland should be Palestine or Uganda in Africa (a British proposal that it was supported only by a minority of delegates).

The Zionist movement began among the Arab reaction to the movement that saw their risk of Palestine. British Arab pressures caused require restricting Jewish immigration, but settlers continued to arrive in Palestine, seeing their goal of a state was very close, as well shy of the Nazi threat. While Arabs and hardened their reactions between the two groups began armed clashes continued throughout the Second World War, reports Telegraph.

After many attempts to reach a settlement, Britain, disappointed, decided to give up the management of the area and handed over its mandate UN that once created. Britain withdrew from Palestine in 1947, while Jews and Arabs were prepared to fight among themselves.

UN proposed a partition of Palestine into two independent states, one Palestinian Arab and the other Jewish, while Jerusalem would be under international administration. Limits were placed on purely demographic basis, without considering the criteria for protection of borders, the shape of the two countries seems quite strange on the map. Arabs reject the UN plan, while Jews immediately announce the creation of their state, called Israel, on May 14, 1948 in Tel-Aviv. The war began immediately, five Arab countries (Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Jordan and Iraq) attacked Israel, while half of the Palestinian Arab population was forced to move from fighting.During the war Israel occupied 77 percent of the territory of Palestine, and most of Jerusalem, passing the limits set by the UN, while Egypt and Jordan occupied the rest of the country (ie the Gaza Strip and West Bank).War of 1948 marked only the beginning of a long series of bloody wars between Israel and Arab states.

In 1949 Israel allowed the return of 150 thousand Arabs fled, mostly to family reunification, after international pressure. Meanwhile, in 1950, returns to promulgate give automatic citizenship to Jewish immigrants settling in Israel from all over the world.

Meanwhile, frustration remains high, especially in the Gaza Strip. In the mid 50s of last century, President Nasser of Egypt decided to nationalize the Suez Canal, causing fury of Britain and France, holding historic Canal. In 1956 Israel attacked Egypt and invades the Gaza Strip and Sinai Peninsula, while France and Britain occupy the Suez Canal. Threats of fierce Soviet Union (which meanwhile was suppressing the revolt of Hungary) and the fear of the US to open a conflict extended at the height of the Cold War, make war be stopped and the bodies of three powers occupying withdrawn leaving occupied territories under control of the UN.

Only 10 years later, in 1967, war again switches. Egypt mobilizes forces in Sinai and UN troops leave the peninsula, while Israel blocked the exit to the Red Sea. Egypt and Syria attacked Israel (the latter because of its territory in the Golan Heights continuously carried out attacks against Jewish settlements). Jordan attacked Israel immediately. The fight went down in history as the "war of six days", within this short time Israel occupied the Gaza Strip and Sinai Peninsula (held by Egypt), height Syrian Golan and the West Bank and East Jerusalem from Jordan. Six days war deeply shook the Arab world and marked the first major exacerbating its West that supported Israel. During this short war, but more severe, it occurred the second major exodus of Palestinians, around half a million people were forced to leave the country.

Israel, the state of which the world has turned the eyes, has a history which, in its origins linked to Albania, an Albanian who wanted to stop the formation of this state.

In the early twentieth century or in 1900, Albanians had occupied important places everywhere in political life and the Ottoman administration. Book of memories Eqrem do Vlora, provides an overview of the detailed Albanian life during 1885-1912. This first book is published by the Institute of Research for Eastern Europe in Munich, Germany, in 1973. Telegraph brings you below some of its parts, with respect to the beginnings of Israel today.

In the fall of 1904, Eqrem do Vlora - who at that time lived in Turkey together with a government commission - went to the Hejaz railway inaugurated. A journey full of surprises for the Albanian, who followed the law, but also worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey.

During the trip, Vlora Bay Eqrem made great impression disposition of Albanians in key positions.

"In Rhodes, paid us a visit Governor General of the Aegean islands, valiu saw Abedin Dino, a Cham Albanian. It was just shocked, "she recalls Eqrem do Vlora, while traveling to Rhodes to Beirut, where it was impressed steering Albanians.

After the inauguration of the Hejaz railway, which ferries traveling Eqrem make traveling towards Jafës Vlora, but, as the witness recalled, their boat had a mission to perform, even secret mission. According Eqremit, his boss had given orders to gather information about "Jewish Research Mission" newly established in Tel-Aviv - an issue of interest to many Turkish authorities.

"I remember well how, in December 1903, I happened by chance to the palace of the Grand Vizier then, Ferit saw Vlora. He told us to wait Baron afternoon Rotçildin (Rothschild) from Paris. Later we learned that he was requesting the concession for 99 years, to 20,000 hectares of land (sand dunes) in Tel-Aviv, for which he was ready to pay the Government a lease quite high ", he recalls in his book Eqrem Bey Vlora, adding that the grand Vizier refused to help in any way to this agreement.

Despite the efforts of Vizier Albanian Rotçildi managed to get directly from the Sultan (Abdul Hamid II) permission to create in Tel-Aviv a "Commission study" and was this committee, to which the ship on which traveling Eqrem do Vlora, stopped to get information.

"On the beach of Tel Aviv was built two small, simple fare with five agents working - World Jewish Congress officials, and collect data on the economic conditions of the Arabs in Palestine," he writes Eqrem do Vlora.

Eqremi notes that this commission has worked well. It seemed the taste and the versatile ways and clever with which the appropriate moment he took ownership Arabs Jews ignorant and helpless.

In additions that make Eqrem Vlora makes this problem, he sees the situation created as very favorable for the emergence of conflicts and acts of violence. He does not blame the Jews for this, but told them that way, and he smoothed the way for the Zionists in Palestine, namely English.

By Bey Vlora, when the mission began to exceed the limits laid down not only served, despite damaged British interests. And, consequently, English policy really began to work actively against massive inculcation of Jews in Palestine, but it was too late: the river of Jewish immigration can not be contained.

"Today he received an unprecedented burst, it has achieved amazing results, but artificial state of Israel that he has created, hidden within itself the seeds of future turmoil. This is because the Arab peoples will always remain inconceivable to acquiesce, a wedge Jewish bisect the Arab world ", was the opinion of Eqrem do Vlora a century ago, where the situation expected wars wild ones today have moved a whole world.

"We are fed up with the problems ethnic Macedonians, Greeks, Armenians and have no interest to the arnojmë now an Arab-Jewish ethnic problem.Palestine was once Jewish, but since the time of Solomon's great little David have spent thousands of years. Rightly or wrongly, today it is 100 percent Arab and the Ottoman Empire there is no reason, either political if sentimental, to change this situation, "said Vizier Albanian who was unable to hold back the provision of land under concession or the influx of Jews who began to encamp about Israel, because the Sultan had already made great bargains./ShikoOnline

Ranieri already has 100 wins in the Premier League

Leicester City's Italian coach made his own bit of history on Saturday, Claudio Ranieri reaching his 100th victory as a coach in the Premier League after the Foxes 2-1 victory against Swansea.

The win also puts him as fifth most successful foreign coach in the English top flight.

Arsene Wenger (435 victories)
Rafael Benitez (144 victories)
Jose Mourinho (142 victories)
Gerard Houllier (118 victories)
Claudio Ranieri (100 victories)

He came to the Premier League to coach Chelsea in 2000. He left in 2004 after 76 wins but last season rewrote Leicester's history to put him to within a victory of the magical mark.

The protagonist for Chelsea's leap forward

The Blues were a sinking ship that had started badly in the league and had players like Gianfranco Zola, Gustavo Poyet and John Terry..

In his first year he managed to turn things around and the team qualified for the former UEFA Cup. Results steadily improved and then came the arrival of Roman Abramovich in 2003.

2000-2001 season (6th place / 16 victories)
2001-2002 season (6th place / 17 victories)
2002-2003 season (4th place / 19 victories)
2003-2004 season (2nd place / 24 victories)

His time at Chelsea ended with the conclusion of the 2003/04 campaign. He left the team after qualifying for the Champions League, his place taken by Jose Mourinho who had just completed a treble with Porto.

History with Leicester

In his second stint in England, Ranieri wrote one of the most remarkable stories of modern football. He took a Leicester side who were relegation candidates from the previous season to win the Premier League against all odds.

On their way to the title, the Foxes managed 23 wins, including at the Etihad Stadium and White Hart Lane. The Italian's centenary victory came after a shaky start to 2016/17, losing the Community Shield against Manchester United and earning just a single point in the first two matchdays of the season./ShikoNews

Alexis Sanchez sparks Arsenal back to life

The pressure had been building on Arsenal after a slow summer in the transfer market and two straight matches without a victory, yet Alexis Sanchez has sparked them back into life.

Sanchez took charge of the Gunners in Saturday's victory over Watford in what was the club's most coherent performance of the campaign so far.

He contributed an assist, won a penalty and scored a goal at Vicarage Road, finding his rhythm after a summer disrupted by an ankle injury.

Arsenal's performances against Liverpool and Leicester City had been slow and lacking in any real cutting edge in attack but Sanchez's display completely turned that around head on Saturday.

It has been a difficult start to the campaign for the player who has struggled to adapt to the role of being a lone centre-forward in Olivier Giroud's absence, but as he has rediscovered his fitness his form has quickly followed.

Overtures from Italy earlier in the summer had those at the Emirates Stadium concerned however the club has managed to keep their best player and they finally saw the best of him against the Hornets.

This is now his third season in England after Wenger parted with 42 million euros to sign the former Barcelona star and his numbers in the Premier League have shown him to be a value for money signing./ShikoNews

We have news for terrorism, since the Taliban until the September 11 militant group Islamic State. In addition, we hear stories of forced marriages, polygamy and cutting of female genitals, "says Drechsler in an interview for Radio Free Europe.

She says the media "always report only the horrors that occur and very little for the good and positives".

"It is important that the public be told that Western Muslims live their religion differently and it depends on many factors. But real life and media presentation of this life are miles apart. It is important to personalize things, talk about normal life of people in Islam ".

Burkini makers shows why this outfit set: 40 percent buyer are not Muslim

Great feedback on social networks were encouraged, from the picture published in French media featuring four armed policemen, who a Muslim woman in the beach looking to remove part of burkini.

This dress of Muslim women, August is banned in fifteen French cities. The ban came under the pretext that offends morality and secularism burkini and that provokes the rest of the community because "appeared openly in the name of religion which are carried out terrorist attacks in France".

But the creators of burkini, Ahed Zanetti, rejects the claims of French politicians, saying that the coating is designed to ensure freedom of Muslim women in sport, recreation and integration into Western society.

Since burkini became unwelcome in many French cities, many Muslim women wear it despite experiencing unpleasant situations on beaches.

Zanetti burkini first made in 2004 for the niece who wanted to deal with netball (a game similar to basketball). Although initially, because the hijab (headscarf that covers the hair, neck and ears) said it could not be part of the team, soon changed the decision.

But her niece like dealing with this sport and at the same time did not want to remove the hijab because regarded as personal manifestation of modesty, privacy and morality. Thus, it has devised a solution that will reconcile the two hardly compatible things. Zanetti was thrown in search of adequate sports clothing that fit traditional attire myslimanes and thus created burkina.

But this innovation in clothing does not reduce misunderstandings of society, so has decided to provide its meaning. Zanetti said that it is clothing that symbolizes a healthy life and freedom of choice, not connecting strongly with Islam.

"In this way the girls want to integrate into society, to deal with the sport - no" derogatory views and prejudices "- being equal. Every woman has the right to wear the clothes they want, without stops and penalties.Burkina can wear women suffering from skin cancer, or those who have newly born not feel comfortable in a bikini, "she said, adding that sales show that 40 percent buyer are not Muslim. Conte: Chelsea won't fall into Burnley trap

Antonio Conte is taking nothing for granted when Chelsea host Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday after the promoted side stunned Liverpool last weekend.

Liverpool, who began the season with a 4-3 victory at Arsenal, were found wanting against Burnley as Sean Dyche masterminded a 2-0 triumph thanks to goals from Sam Vokes and Andre Gray.

Conte is determined that Chelsea will not suffer a similar fate at Stamford Bridge.

"I watched their performance against Liverpool and also against Swansea," the Italian coach told reporters on Friday.

"It was a fantastic performance against Liverpool from a physical and tactical aspect."

"They put great pressure on Liverpool for the whole 90 minutes," he added. "It's incredible because only one year ago many people paid attention to ball possession."

"This game was 25 percent ball possession for Burnley, and 75 for Liverpool, and the final result was 2-0 to Burnley."

"For this reason I told my players to pay great attention tomorrow because it's a tough game with a good side. They are very solid in defensive situations and they are always waiting to go on the counter-attack with two very good forwards."

Conte has enjoyed a 100 percent start to life in England, overseeing narrow victories over West Ham United and Watford in the Premier League and a 3-2 win over Bristol Rovers in the League Cup.

"We've played three games, we won them all, but I know and I spoke to my players about it, we can improve a lot," the former Italy coach added.

"I am pleased to start the season in this way, for the players and for the club after last season, to take more confidence than we did last season, but we know we must improve a lot."/ShikoNews

Khedira lifts Juventus to second straight victory

After bagging the game's first goal against Fiorentina last weekend, a lone Sami Khedira strike was enough to give Juventus a 1-0 win over Lazio.

Although the Bianconeri lost Paul Pogba in the summer, they haven't missed the Frenchman one bit as Khedira, alongside Kwadwo Asamoah and Mario Lemina have been inspirational in Juve's two wins so far this season.

Building on their exciting victory over Atalanta last weekend, the Biancocelesti did start very aggressively but Juventus continued their impressive form over their opponents, as Khedira's 66th minute winner ensured Juve have victorious in their last five games against Lazio, and all without conceding.

The evening began with images and video displayed on the big screens at the Stadio Olimpico and a minute's applause for the recent earthquake victims in Amatrice and the surrounding area. While Lazio also wore a special shirt which had 'Us with you' emblazoned on the front.

Building on their exciting win over Atalanta last weekend, the Biancocelesti started every aggressively and pressed Juventus high up the field.

Chances were few and far between in the opening period. Paulo Dybala went close with an improvised header, and at the other end a dangerous Felipe Anderson cross was hooked away.

There was a first in Serie A on 27 minutes when a cooling break was called as temperatures in Rome soared above 30 degrees celsius.

As the first half went on Juventus began to force their way into the match and Sami Khedira produced a brilliant touch in the box, following a ball over the top, but was denied by a Marco Parolo block.

Kwadwo Asamoah was next to try his luck, but a dipping volley from the edge of the area, was dealt with by Federico Marchetti.

Lazio started the second half the same as they did the first, very intense and not giving their Bianconeri counterparts time to settle on the ball.

However, Juventus should really have taken the lead when Mandzukic found himself one-on-one with Marchetti, but he shot straight at the Lazio goalkeeper.

Then, with the ball falling to Dybala, the Argentinian dragged his angled-shot inches wide of the upright.

Not long after, an excellent counter attack from Juve saw the ball eventually find its way to Khedira, by way of a back heel from Dybala, but the German sent the ball wide.

Minutes later Khedira broke the deadlock after latching onto a Dybala pass, and finishing low past Marchetti. Lazio midfielder Lucas Biglia should have done better as he tried to intercept the initial ball with an outstretched leg.

Patric went close for Lazio, smashing a volley just one the crossbar, before Buffon was tested by a stinging Parolo effort from 25 yards.

That was about as close as Simone Inzaghi's men came to getting an equaliser, as Juventus' defence was very rarely troubled.

After the international break, Juventus welcome Sassuolo to Turin, while Lazio face a trip to Chievo./ShikoNews

Substitute Rashford breaks Hull resolve with late winner

Marcus Rashford scored a stoppage-time winner as Manchester United broke Hull City's resistance at the death to win 1-0 at the KCOM Stadium on Saturday and keep Jose Mourinho's winning record alive at his new club.

In wet conditions, United were laboured and their build-up play was slow as they struggled to break down their hosts, but Rashford provided a late spark after replacing Juan Mata, and converted Wayne Rooney's cross in the 92nd minute to crown a lively cameo.

Both sides sought to find their range during the first half as Robert Snodgrass sent a testing free kick just wide of David De Gea's goal in the 24th minute, while Eldin Jakupovic was forced into a low save from a Juan Mata set piece -- the first of a series of crucial stops.

World-record signing Paul Pogba was well shackled by the home side's disciplined midfield, although Zlatan Ibrahimovic went close only to be flagged offside after backheeling into the side netting and David Meyler was fortunate not to be punished after raising an elbow to deflect a shot in the Hull box before Rashford's late intervention./ShikoNews

Sissoko refutes Newcastle's €40m price tag

The 40 million euro price tag that has been placed upon Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko is too high, according to the player himself.

Inter had strongly considered making a move for the France international, who impressed during his country's defeat in the Euro 2016 final, before making other moves instead.

Real Madrid were also linked with the midfielder and Juventus are also monitoring his situation in the event that they can't tempt Luiz Gustavo of Wolfsburg but they may be put off by the Magpies' asking price.

"They are asking for 40 million euros for me but I think that's an exaggerated price," Sissoko told France Football. "I was bought for something like 2m euros and so for this reason, a sale has slowed down.

"That price is deterring any clubs who are interested and even with Real, things have cooled."

Sissoko also bemoaned his current situation at St James' Park, admitting that things have been difficult for him since he returned from Euro 2016.

"Ever since I came back from my holiday, I've been training alone. I've been involved in some exercises with my teammates but for important meetings, I'm not there," he added.

Pique takes swipe at Real Madrid over Champions League win

Trolling Real Madrid is nothing new for Gerard Pique, so it was little surprise when the Barcelona defender took advantage of his Twitter Q&A to take a sly shot at the Champions League holders over what the 29-year-old perceived to be a simple route to lifting the trophy.

Ahead of the draw for this year's tournament, Pique was asked if he had any preference for Barcelona.

"I'd prefer an easy group, with the third-placed side from Italy in the last 16, the eighth-placed team from Germany in the quarter-finals, the team that finished fourth from England in the semi-finals, and the return legs all at home," Pique said.

If his answer sounds a little too specific, it is because it is the exact route that Real Madrid took to last year's final against Atletico Madrid.

After qualifying from a group that contained Paris Saint Germain, Shakhtar Donetsk and Malmo, Los Blanos faced Roma, Wolfsburg and Manchester City in the knockout stages.

Barcelona were of course eliminated by Atleti at the quarter-final stage and while Pique would love to get his hands on a fourth Champions League title, in the meantime he seems happy winding up the supporters of Real Madrid./ShikoNews

Marcelo is Zidane's only left-back available right now

Zinedine Zidane may only have one option at left-back until the return of Fabio Coentrao from injury, but the French coach won't be panicking given that the one left-back he does have available is the increasingly reliable Marcelo.

Since arriving at the club in 2007 - when he transferred from Rio de Janeiro side Fluminense - the Brazilian has been a dependable option at left-back, but he is now playing some of the best football of his career and is even taking on extra responsibilities as a leader of the team.

As well as being the player most used by Zidane during the club's pre-season matches, the 28-year-old also demonstrated that he can drag the team forward when called upon.

With a number of starters injured or on holiday, the defender scored three goals in Los Blancos' International Champions Cup matches - one against Paris Saint-Germain and two against Chelsea - to truly lead by example.

It was a similar story in the UEFA Super Cup, when he helped out his colleagues in attack to get Real Madrid over the line.

Given how impressive he has been so far this summer, the fact that Coentrao is out injured until October - after sustaining a serious injury while on loan at Monaco in April - the lack of a backup should not become a problem unless Marcelo picks up a suspension or injury.

In that case, Nacho - who is a natural centre-back, not a left-back - would slot in.

Higuain: Call me fat and I'll score every time

Gonzalo Higuain has claimed that criticism and jibes about his weight will only succeed in firing him up and making him an even bigger threat in front of goal.

Despite the Argentine being mocked for being overweight during the off-season, he showed no signs of that holding him back on the opening day of the season.

The second half substitute grabbed a late winner against Fiorentina on his debut and is hoping it is the start of a successful period for him in Turin.

Gonzalo, what makes you angry about all of the talk about your weight and your belly make you angry?

"Nothing. On the contrary, it is best that people say it before games because it means that I'm going to score every time."

"I'm fine. I've trained hard for 20 days but I can always improve. Always. That's what I want to do. Here at Juve I'm very happy. I made a choice that wasn't easy but at the same time, I'm sure I made the right one."How are you these days then?

You were cheered on during your warm-up, cheered on to the field and cheered even louder when you scored. Could you have imagined that?

"When you here the songs, it makes you feel warm. When you feel that people support you, it gives you an even greater desire to do well. My goal is for them and I also dedicate it to the people who have always been with me and never had any doubts about me."

How did you celebrate?

"In the dressing room we celebrated because it is an important victory for us. We began with three points and we're sure things will get better for us but everyone knows that there are 37 games left and we have to stay calm. I'm at a great club, in a very strong team with a winning mentality."

Your goal: there wasn't much space yet you still found the net.

"From the outside looking in it may have seemed like an easy goal but no, it was hard."

Now do you hope to start against Lazio or do you still need more time?

"I don't decide that. Against Fiorentina, I just tried to do my best for the team."

How is your relationship with [Mario] Mandzukic?

"Fantastic, fantastic. It is the same with him as it is with everyone else, that's how you win trophies."

As captain, Gianluigi Buffon usually welcomes newcomers with motivational speeches. Did he say something to you in particular?

"He told me that he's happy to have me here but everyone in general has been very nice and welcoming to me. All of my new teammates have made me feel like I've been here for a long time and that's very good."

It must be a privilege to train against the best Italian defenders?

"It is a big positive. Playing with the best makes you believe in what you can do."/ShikoNews

Cavani: I'd never have betrayed Napoli like Higuain

Although he has often been linked with a move to Juventus, Edinson Cavani has insisted he would never betray former club Napoli by joining the Turin outfit.

The Argentina international completed a controversial, record-breaking transfer from the Stadio San Paolo to the Juventus Stadium this summer.

Juventus were interested in 'El Matador' in 2013 but the striker opted for a 64 million switch to Paris Saint-Germain instead and claimed he would never follow the path taken by his fellow South American.

"Everyone is free to do whatever they choose to do but all I can say is that [his] choice is one that I would never have made," Cavani told reporters in the mixed zone on Sunday following PSG's 3-0 win over Metz.

Higuain's transfer north has been met with a great deal of hurt and anger in Naples, where the striker was revered throughout his time at the club.

One pizza place in the city has offered a massive discount of 1 on pizzas if the striker picks up an injury at Juventus, while oversized Higuain jerseys have been placed on sale, mocking the player's weight struggles which have surrounded him over the past two weeks.

Cavani rejected another move to Juve last summer in order to pursue a 12m per season wage increase in the French capital, before having to 'settle' for a salary of 7.5m./ShikoNews

Leicester ready to make further investments in squad

Leicester City are ready to spend to make further additions to their title-winning squad if the right opportunity arises, the club's vice-chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha has said.

Leicester have signed striker Ahmed Musa, midfielder Nampalys Mendy, goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler, defender Luis Hernandez and Poland winger Bartosz Kapustka in the current transfer window.

Striker Jamie Vardy and winger Riyad Mahrez were among those from the historic Premier League winning squad to commit their future to the club, but midfielder N'Golo Kante moved to Chelsea in the close season.

British media reports have linked Austrian defender Aleksandar Dragovic over a possible move to King Power Stadium.

"Several of our players made long-term commitments to the club during the summer months and I'm delighted," Srivaddhanaprabha was quoted as saying by the Leicester Mercury.

"I'm already excited by the strength and vibrancy of the squad and we are ready to make to make further investments if the right opportunities arise."

Leicester picked up their first point of the new season after a goalless draw against Arsenal last weekend and will welcome Swansea City in their next league fixture on Saturday./ShikoNews

Conte: Chelsea need to be better at killing off games

Chelsea must develop a ruthless mentality to kill games and not invite pressure from their opposition, manager Antonio Conte has said after his side endured a tense finale in their 3-2 League Cup win against third-tier Bristol Rovers.

Two goals from Michy Batshuayi handed Chelsea a 3-1 lead at the interval but Ellis Harrison's penalty early in the second half for Rovers ensured a nervous finish to the second-round game for the Premier League side..

"We must understand when you have the people to kill the game you must," Conte told the British media.

"When you leave it open, a situation like tonight can happen and until the game has finished you are afraid (of a draw)."

England manager Sam Allardyce recently said he would be open to hold talks with John Terry over a possible return to international football, and Conte said it would not be right for him to interfere in the situation.

"I'm a former international team coach so I know this situation and prefer it to be solved between Sam Allardyce and John Terry," the former Italy manager added. "That's the right way.

"John Terry has a great attitude during training and is working very hard. I'm very happy with his commitment.

"But for the international team, it is important for it to be solved between Sam Allardyce and John Terry."

Manchester United will be Schweinsteiger's last European club

Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger says he will not play for another club in Europe despite being unable to seal a place in the squad under new manager Jose Mourinho.

Schweinsteiger, who is yet to make a first team appearance for United this season, has been made to train with the club's reserves and would be sold after Mourinho signed French midfielder Paul Pogba from Juventus, according to media reports.

"MUFC will be my last club in Europe. I respect other clubs, but Manchester United was the only one which could make me leave Bayern Munich," Schweinsteiger said on Twitter.

Since moving to Old Trafford from Bayern Munich last year, the German, who announced his retirement from international football last month, was limited to 18 league appearances in his first season due to regular injuries and poor form.

However, the 32-year-old insisted he was ready to compete when called upon.

"I will be ready, if the team needs me. This is all I can say about the current situation. I want to thank the fans for the amazing support over the recent weeks," he added.

Schweinsteiger and Germany forward Lukas Podolski, who also ended his international career earlier this month, will be honoured with a farewell match against Finland in Moenchengladbach on Aug. 31.

Schweinsteiger played 500 matches for Bayern Munich, winning eight Bundesliga titles and the 2013 Champions League. He was also Germany's vice-captain when they edged Argentina in extra-time to win the 2014 World Cup./ShikoNews

Syrian joined twins 'died while awaiting resettlement abroad'

Twins joined a month, who were evacuated from a suburb surrounded by rebels near the Syrian capital Damascus have died, said a medical organization.

Nawras and Moaz were united in the chest, with hearts in the same chest. The government allowed to settle in a children's hospital on August 12 after doctors filed a request.

The boys were waiting for documents that could travel abroad for surgical operation that will save lives, when they died, said the American Medical Society.

"The whole world might not have permission to evacuate them," wrote the manager of charitable support in Turkey, Mohamad Katoub, on Twitter.

Moaz and Nawras weighed less than 12lb (5.4kg) when they were born by caesarean section on 23 July at the Zahra hospital in Douma, a town in the eastern Ghouta region outside Damascus.

Douma has been completely besieged by government forces for two years and the undersupplied hospital was unable to provide the twins with the care they required.

There are conflicting reports about why it took almost three weeks for the boys to be evacuated.

The SAMS and doctors in Douma said the government only gave permission for an SARC ambulance to pass through the frontline because of a social media campaign they mounted, using the Twitter hashtag "#EvacuateTheTwins".

On Wednesday morning, Mr Katoub announced that the boys had died. "The whole world couldn't have the permission to evacuate them," he added.

He was later quoted by the pro-opposition website Enab Baladi as blaming "interference by the ministry of foreign affairs and its stalling of issuing a travel permit to any country to allow them to receive treatment".

The SARC said the twins had received treatment in intensive care while being "registered in the formal civil records and having passports issued for them".

But it added that the Bambino Gesu Children's Hospital in Rome had agreed to admit them and that "all formal leave approvals were signed in order to travel". "However, the bad general health condition [of the boys] was a hindrance."/ShikoNews

Champions League draw set for Thursday evening

Four Spanish teams will feature in the Champions League group stages draw at the Monte Carlo Congress Centre on Thursday, with Villarreal having been eliminated by the meeting's local team Monaco in the preliminary stage of the competition.

Real Madrid and Barcelona take their place in Pot 1 due to their status as Champions League holders and Spanish league winners respectively.

Leicester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Benfica, Juventus and CSKA Moscow make up the rest of the top seeded teams.

Atletico Madrid and Sevilla sit in Pot 2 alongside Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, Porto, Napoli and Bayer Leverkusen. They will be joined by Manchester City if Pep Guardiola's side secure their qualification against Steaua Bucharest.

In the unlikely event that Manchester City's 5-0 first-leg victory doesn't prove sufficient, Swiss side Basel will be bumped up to Pot 2 while Steaua Bucharest would enter the fray in Pot 4.

Tottenham, Dynamo Kiev, Lyon, PSV Eindhoven, Sporting Lisbon and Club Brugge are confirmed for Pot 3, while Monaco, Besiktas, Legia Warsaw and Ludogorets occupy Pot 4.

Scottish side Celtic have guaranteed their place in the group stages, but they will have to wait until the conclusion of tonight's play-offs to know which Pot they will occupy.

The final seeding allocations will be confirmed after the conclusion of Ajax-Rostov (1-1), Copenhagen-Apoel Nicosia (1-0), Young Boys-Borussia Monchengladbach (1-3), Dinamo Zagreb-Red Bull Salzsburg (1-1) and Steaua Bucharest-Manchester City (0-5), with UEFA's coefficient system used to populate the four pots.

The group stages will be held between September 13 and December 7, with the draw for the knockout stages slated for December 12.

In addition to revealing the group stage match-ups, UEFA will also use Thursday's ceremony to unveil the winner of their Best Player in Europe award.

Lopetegui May drop Casillas for Spain

With his first squad selection as Spain boss hotly anticipated, it appears Julen Lopetegui may leave out Porto goalkeeper Iker Casillas.

Following another poor showing at Euro 2016, Vicente Del Bosque stepped down after eight years in charge, winning the World Cup in 2010 and European Championship in 2012, with Casillas at the heart of both triumphs.

But despite being in charge of the Dragoes when the 35-year-old joined last summer, Lopetegui may finally cut the chord between Casillas and La Roja as he looks to make his own mark on the side.

A number of players who made up the spine of the country's most-successful ever side, including David Villa, Xavi Hernandez and Xabi Alonso, retired following the World Cup in 2014, and many expected Casillas to follow suit.

A rivalry for the number one shirt with David de Gea has been sparked since, but it now appears the Real Madrid legend's time could be up, having made his debut back in 2000./ShikoNews

Atletico's scary glimpse of life without Griezmann

On Sunday evening that proved costly as his teammates laboured to a 1-1 draw against Alaves without him, highlighting just how vital he is for Diego Simeone's plans.

The positive for Los Rojiblancos is that the Frenchman's absence was merely temporary.

In years gone by, a 32-goal season would have been enough to put Griezmann in the shop window and the club would have stuck a ribbon on him, shipped him off to Barcelona, Real Madrid or the Premier League and happily put transfer fee towards paying off their debt.

This summer, though, marked a new era for the capital city side as they did not sell any starters and even managed to tie their star man to the club until 2021 with the signing of a bumper new contract.

Yet one day - whether before or after 2021 - their No.7 will depart and, if Sunday's match is anything to go by, Los Colchoneros will struggle without him.

Just as Ebenezer Scrooge was terrified by the parallel universe in which he didn't exist that was shown to him by the Ghost of Christmas Past, Atletico fans should be concerned at Sunday evening's glimpse at life post-Griezmann.

Alaves sat as deep as the 4-5-1 they've played all pre-season suggested they would, yet Simeone's side could not come up with a way to blow down the Basque side's defensive wall.

Although they fired away 27 shots at Fernando Pacheco's goal, ten of those 27 were have-a-go blasts from outside the box, while only six of them were on target - including the controversially-awarded penalty.

Besides a neat passing move between Juanfran, Koke and Kevin Gameiro and the moment when the ball bobbled into Saul Niguez's path - both in the first half - there was no clear one-on-one opportunity created by Atletico from open play.

Without the locksmith usually charged with unpicking the defensive bolt, Atletico simply lacked the creativity necessary to rip apart a stubborn nine-man - and sometimes ten-man, when Gaizka Toquero tracked back - defence.

Worryingly, this was not the first time the team has struggled without Griezmann.

Since he touched down at the Vicente Calderon in the summer of 2014, the Frenchman has missed seven matches and Atleti have only won two of those - both against third tier Reus in the Copa del Rey.

Two more of those Griezmann-less matches also came in the cup - a 2-2 draw with L'Hospitalet and a 1-1 draw with Rayo Vallecano - while the team also drew 0-0 without him against Juventus in the Champions League and 1-1 with Valencia in a league match in the 2014/15 season.

Compared to the reverse fixtures against Juventus and Valencia that season, the number of shots and the number of chances created were both lower in the match without the Frenchman's presence.

The problem for Atletico is that they don't have anyone else who can both create and finish like him.

Kevin Gameiro is expected to be as lethal a goalscorer as he was at Sevilla and his few missed chances on Sunday night shouldn't be overblown, but he cannot manufacture chances for other players out of thin air in the way that Griezmann can - highlighted by the fact he provided just four LaLiga assists for Sevilla in 2015/16.

Koke, meanwhile, is the ultimate through ball king, yet he scored just five goals in the league last season.

However, the team's No.7 can do both, but their reliance on him doing so could become problematic if he gets injured, suspended or - whisper it - departs for another club.

Fans of Barcelona and Real Madrid like to accuse their rival of Messidependencia or Ronaldodependencia, the overreliance on their superstar.

In truth, Griezmanndependencia may be much more of a real concept./ShikoNews

Munir will go to Celta if Barcelona sign Alcacer

Paco Alcacer may yet end up signing for Barcelona before the end of this summer's transfer market and if he does then Munir el Haddadi would sign with Celta Vigo for the 2016/17 season.

It would be an attractive move for the 20-year-old, as he would have the chance to earn plenty of playing time, while he would also gain experience of continental football in the Europa League.

Although a number of Spanish, English, French and German teams were interested in signing him, the forward will instead opt to go to Galicia - as revealed by Cope and confirmed.

The switch is reported to be a loan deal, rather than a sale with a buy-back option.

Munir has played 45 competitive matches for the Blaugrana since debuting in 2014, scoring 10 goals, while he has also featured once for La Roja./ShikoNews

The man who photographed the five-year kid, all others was crying that night, he didn't cry, he didn't say a word!

A photograph of Daqneesh Omran, derived from the rubble after an air strike on the rebel-held neighborhood in Qaterji, Aleppo, is seen by millions of people worldwide.

But who was the man who made this picture and what he says?

I live only 300 meters from the attack. Just after 7 o'clock in the evening, after evening prayers, we heard explosions. We rushed up there with three other media activists.

The first thing I saw were bodies on the ground who were transferred in ambulances. They were neighbors of the family of Omran. The building was totally destroyed - all six floors were turned into ruins.

Then I looked up to see a half-destroyed building - the home of Omran.

Rescue workers wearing helmets, they climb the stairs of a building nearby after the Omran stairs of the building were destroyed. I joined to help.

The first survivor was captured Omran - I took the camera and started filming. I later learned that it was only four years old.
It was too dark to see well, but I continued filming.
Rescue personnel took the boy and sent him to the ambulance and sat him in the chair. I kept filming.
It was the time when I realized how the boy was traumatized by the shooting and determined that, to take a picture.
Tears began to flow until I was shot. This is not the first time that I cried. I cried many times while filming traumatized children. I always cry. We always cry of war photographers.
All wept that night. Omran touched me because it was very quiet. He did not cry. He did not say a word. He was shocked.
I thought my daughter had only seven days since he was born. I thought if it had been. It could have been any children in Aleppo or Syria.
The team of rescuers continued the rescue of other family members. Omar's older sister, who is 11-years old, asked me to do the filming. And I turned off the camera and I said: "Of course dear, do not film."
Thanks God the whole family are safe Omran. His mother had some serious injuries to her feet.
His father suffered a minor head injury. His sister seven-year-old underwent a surgical operation and it is doing well.
Today when I woke up, I saw that picture was spread worldwide. I hope that all the photos of children and attacks on Syria distributed in such a way so that the world may know what life held here.
If men knew what was happening, perhaps the war would stop. Perhaps Omran and my daughter, Amal, can live normally, like all children in the world./ShikoNews

Brazil Police killings of favela residents continue as Games go on in Rio

While much of the world’s media has focused on US swimmer Ryan Lochte’s fabricated account of an armed robbery, the real victims of Olympic crime in Rio de Janeiro are the city’s poorest residents, caught on the frontline of conflict between the authorities and drug traffickers.

Since the start of the Olympics, local media have reported at least 14 deaths in shootouts between gang members and police or soldiers from the 85,000-member security force deployed for the Games.

While such high levels of violence have long been a fact of life in favela communities, many residents feel the situation has been made worse by the high-profile mega-event that has focused police on protecting rich foreign visitors and targeting poor local residents.

‘The city should not be this way’: fears over violence in Rio with Olympics near

Certainly, the heightened tension of the Games has led to at least one fatal mistake with devastating repercussions.

Helio Andrade, a state trooper from the distant state of Roraima, was shot dead on 12 August after he mistakenly drove into Vila de João, a gang-controlled neighbourhood in the Complexo do Maré favela. As a soldier on Olympic duty, his death was cause for interim president Michel Temer to declare national mourning and for flags outside the Games venues to fly at half-mast.

As is often the case in Rio, it also prompted the police to launch an extensive and punitive hunt for the killers. At least five residents of Maré were killed in the operations, though the suspects have yet to be apprehended. Images of the area in the local media show that it came under a state of semi-siege, with police helicopters flying overhead and homes raided by heavily armed military police.

The day before the Guardian visited the community, two people had been shot in the latest police action, according to local residents, who said they were woken up on many days by the sound of helicopters buzzing close overhead. “It’s horribly loud,” said Bruno Rodrigues, who, like many local people, asked to be identified with a pseudonym for fear of repercussions. “Everyone in the community is afraid when they hear that as it means an operation is about to start.”

Unlike many other favelas in Rio, Vila de João has never been “pacified” by police. On one street stands a gangster from the Terceiro Comando Puro, or Pure Third Command faction, one of Maré’s biggest drug trafficking gangs, with a semiautomatic rifle slung around his neck and a handgun jammed into the top of his trousers.
